José A. Cardoso
Who is José A. Cardoso who chose Foz do Arelho to live? We are promoting painting classes with him, but we want you to know more about this artist. José A. Cardoso was born in Lisbon in 1945. He graduated in architecture specializing in interior architecture, graphic design and communication. He carried out varied interior architecture and design projects for private companies and official bodies and illustrated several books, posters, promotional and institutional flyers. Designed and executed several stamps series for CTT, Unicef, United Nations, being awarded prizes and honourable mentions, nationally and internationally. Throughout his professional life, he worked with many prominent figures in the panorama of Plastic Arts, Architecture and Design in Portugal, with special reference to Sebastião Rodrigues, Alberto Cardoso, Thomaz de Mello (TOM), António Sena da Silva, Daciano Costa, António Garcia, Troufa Real, Gracinda Candeias e Manoel Lapa, among others. He paints and exhibits regularly since 2004 and has several acquired works for private collections, Museums and Foundations in Portugal, Spain, France, Unite Kingdom, Ireland, United States of America, Australia, Estonia and Russia.
