Walk through the rice fields and salt flats of Alcácer do Sal
The Sado Estuary Nature Reserve, one of the best natural areas of Portugal, with a thousand years history, where Salt had a big relevance not only at a regional scale but at a national and international scale as well, to the rice fields. Portugal is independent regarding rice and this is the largest national rice production area.
We can also observe colonies of flamingos, herons, cormorants among many other species.
We provide binoculars, telescope and a guide. We recommend the use of boots or shoes with good grip and comfortable clothing. Hat and sunscreen, as well as the bathing suit. You should bring water (at least 0.5 litres) and food.
